Finally I get enough time to get on and list another giveaway - and this one is adorable! I was lucky enough to find it as I wandered through etsy as I sometimes do, and Maria was kind enough to agree to do this with me.
Maria of Babycake & Lollipop makes wash-cloth creations that look like lollipops & cupcakes. She's also expanded to ice-cream cones, but what amazed me was how creative and authentic looking her pieces are. She kindly sent me a Lollipop to review, and it's gorgeous - it came on a stick, the "lollipop" is wrapped with tulle material, which was really effective - and it has a card on it, these are perfect for baby shower gift - or any gift for an expectant mom - or mother - I love them. My daughter is 2, and I still use the soft baby cloths on her for her skin, so for me - it was a great review.
My 7 year old was literally drooling when she saw it - in fact she asked me if she could be the one to "try the sucker?" Naturally, I passed it to her and it wasn't until she sniffed it that she figured something was up. Maria is that skillful with her work.
Her cupcakes look delicious as well, and they come in singles, or she has packages, complete with a box that makes them look like they're being delivered from a bakery, they're adorable. Maria takes obvious pride in what she makes, and everything looks fantastic.
My favorite, personally, are the lollipops, complete with a stick they look real, cute and would be something unique to give someone. As well as the lollipops & cupcakes and ice-cream cones (oh my) she has a selection of onesies to offer.
I asked Maria some questions about her pieces and Babycake & Lollipops - and heres what she had to say -
I started out by making my own diaper cake aka babycakes for my baby shower and then other family members saw how cute they were and new babies were born in the family and they asked me if I would make cakes for them. They told me how good I was and I should start selling my creations. I then found the cute washcloth lollipops to add to cakes and then it started! I was hooked. I thought of my name by what I sell babycake & lollipop. I find it enjoyable to be able to spend time with my child and have a little business. I like to fill all my orders the day I receive them and ship out the following day. The most rewarding is that I create all my items myself and I get to share it with so many other friends and new moms. Since becoming a mom I have to say I never leave home without baby bottles and my daughter we are always together!
I love how she mentions how she's able to spend time with her daughter while working. So - want one?
